Vegetarian snack



 

Chili garlic peanuts

Peanuts are naturally high in protein and essential oils. The addition of chili and other spices makes this a great hot vegetarian snack to share with guests and friends.


Ingredients

60g / 2oz butter
500g / 1lb raw peanuts (with skins left on )
1 large clove garlic
½ teaspoon chili powder
½ teaspoon paprika
¼  teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon caraway seeds

Method

Heat butter in large frying pan, add peanuts and stand over very low heat 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Add crushed garlic, sauté gently 2 minutes.

Add chili, paprika, salt and caraway seeds, sauté 3 minutes, stirring constantly. Pour peanuts into bowl and allow the contents cool.

Serves 6-8
